Shopping membership value calculator
A shopping membership is useful only if its benefits fit the way you shop. Estimate your normal order frequency and savings, then compare them with the annual fee. Count purchases you would make anyway, rather than extra orders placed to justify membership.
These estimates cover the membership fee. Lower order frequency or unused perks can change the result.
How it works
- Annual order savings = orders per month × 12 × average saving per order.
- Net annual saving = order savings + other benefits you expect to use − annual fee.
- An annual fee of $99 with two orders a month saving $5 each gives $120 in order savings: $21 after the fee. At $5 per order, 20 orders cover the fee.
- This is a one-year estimate. Enter the renewal price, avoid counting perks twice and allow for changes in delivery rules.
Calculations run in your browser using the numbers you enter. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere.
Questions
What should I put under other savings?
Include benefits you expect to use during the year, excluding the per-order savings you have already entered. Leave it at zero if you are unsure.
What if I order less often?
Change the order estimate and compare again. A membership can be worthwhile at one frequency and cost more than paying delivery at another.
