Buy-one-get-one and multi-buy deals

Buy-one-get-one offers can help when you need several items. Compare the quantity you must buy, the products that qualify and which item receives the discount. A free item is useful only if it is something you want.

Look at the lowest-priced item

When products have different prices, the retailer may discount the cheapest one. Buying a $40 item with a $20 item free saves $20 on a $60 basket, or about 33.3%. It is not the same as 50% off everything.

Add every qualifying item

Many multi-buy promotions need all items in the basket, including the free one. Check sizes, colours and eligible collections, then confirm which line receives the discount. Avoid assuming an offer applies across the entire store.

Compare with buying fewer items

A buy-two-get-two offer can be poor value if you only need one product. Work out the total spend as well as the cost per item. Check expiry dates on consumables and compare a straightforward discount on the quantity you actually need.

Common questions

Is buy one get one free always 50% off?

Only when both items have the same price and you need both. Different item prices change the effective percentage.

Can I use a code with a multi-buy offer?

That depends on the store. Check whether the promotion permits another coupon and make sure both discounts appear in checkout.
